Correct @Robert B! It's understandable that JD Vance was not prepared to back up his statement at that moment and in an act of respect he stepped back and apologized. I would be surprised if JD Vance has not done his due diligence on that topic since then and would be able to establish just how dependent many US Catholic churches are on their often majority Hispanic congregations are today.
