On August 17, Saint Mary’s College in Indiana, a Catholic women’s college sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, published new details about PROCLAIM, a 22-month program training Catholic women to preach. The organizers say they “invited and received the support” of Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne–South Bend - considered "conservative". The first cohort has 27 women, who gathered in June for their first in-person intensive. The program received a $1.25 million grant from Lilly Endowment, a private philanthropic foundation, and provides courses, coaching, preaching circles and practical preaching exercises.

On 6 September, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) was denied entry to the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi. The group had planned to conclude their annual pilgrimage with public prayer inside the basilica. Individual pilgrims were permitted to enter privately or in small groups. The group therefore remained outside and concluded their pilgrimage in the basilica square. Father Gabriele D’Avino, head of the FSSPX in Italy, drew a contrast between this decision and the interreligious gathering in Assisi on 27 October, for which representatives of different religions and Christian denominations are expected to attend the 40th anniversary of the 1986 World Day of Prayer for Peace.

The final programme for the annual Rome pilgrimage of the Traditional Roman Rite (23–25 October) has been announced. However, there is a notable change this year: the pilgrims will enter St Peter's Basilica at 1 p.m. to pray, but there will be no Mass. Instead, pilgrims will travel to the Basilica of St Mary Major, where Bishop Athanasius Schneider will celebrate Mass at 3 p.m. On Friday evening, Bishop Schneider will preside over Pontifical Vespers at the Pantheon. Unlike in previous years, no cardinal is scheduled to celebrate the principal liturgies. On Sunday, the traditional Feast of Christ the King, Masses will be held at San Giovanni Battista dei Fiorentini, Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini and Sant’Anna al Laterano. The University of Notre Dame's McGrath Institute for Church Life has published on July 17 a report containing twelve proposals for assessing candidates for the priesthood. Entitled, "Do You Know Them to Be Worthy?", the file was written by Father Thomas V. Berg and psychologist Timothy G. Lock. The report draws on research commissioned from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) and a consultation held at Notre Dame in September 2025. The proposals concern psychological assessment, candidates with particular psychological or developmental conditions, and formation for chastity and celibacy.
