Completed in May 2026, the restoration of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, Nebraska, revived its historic artistic character. Like many churches, its interior was disfigured in the mid-20th century, including the loss of its original apsidal fresco and installation of a monumental crucifix with a faux stained-glass-style backdrop. Conrad Schmitt Studios renewed the interior with stenciling, gold leaf, faux-marbled columns, and a new apsidal mural depicting the Ascension. The project also returned the high altar to prominence.

The Second Pastoral Synod of the Archdiocese of Kraków degenerates into a 'rainbow event'. It opened in March 2026 under the leadership of Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, and the first 56-page report was produced on 19 June. A Synodal Day of Recollection has been scheduled for 10 October 2026, and the next plenary session is planned for 12–13 February 2027. Today, the Vatican announced that Leo XIV approved Archbishop Andrea Ding Yang, 44, of Chongqing, China, on 28 July and that he was consecrated a bishop today. Andrea Ding Yang, born in Chongqing in 1981, was ordained a priest in 2007 after studying at the Beijing state seminary. He was chosen unilateral by the Chinese state religion on 15 April. Butterflies Greet Pope Leo as He Returns to Italian Shrine in Genazzano Pope Leo received an unusual and colorful welcome during his return visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Genazzano, Italy, on September 7. As the pope arrived, a box was presented to him before butterflies were released, creating a memorable moment at the historic shrine. Pope Leo later led Mass during his visit.
