Cardinal Cupich and Leo XIV Share Ecclesial Vision and Devotion for Francis: Pro-homosexual Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich told homosex activist James Martin SJ on April 21 that he has a decade-long relationship with Pope Leo XIV and often borrows his language when commenting on political events. Cupich recalled that Prevost attended his 2014 installation as archbishop of Chicago. They grew closer when Prevost became a member of the Congregation for Bishops and later became prefect: “He had been here at Holy Name Cathedral a couple of times to visit with me, we had lunch here… We have a very good history together working on important projects and had a great devotion to Pope Francis.”
Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich said this week that he has worked closely with Pope Leo XIV for years and often draws on the pontiff’s language when speaking on political issues. Appearing on Father James Martin’s podcast, Cupich said his relationship with Leo dates back to 2014 and deepened through their shared service on the Dicastery for Bishops. “We have a very good history together working on important projects,” Cupich said, adding that both shared “a great devotion to Pope Francis.”
Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the Lord: Cursed is anyone who places his trust in human beings and relies on human strength while his heart turns away from the Lord.
Talking to Gloria.tv, Bishop Athanasius Schneider asks Pope Leo XIV to permit the episcopal consecrations of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X. Since Leo XIV continually calls for peace in the world, the bishop argues that he should also foster peace within the Church. If he cannot make peace with the faithful and clergy of the FSSPX — Catholics who love and pray for the Pope — then his appeals for peace will lose credibility. Bishop Schneider therefore recommends that the Pope allow the consecrations as a gesture of reconciliation and to build bridges with the FSSPX, with whom he should continue discussions towards a lasting solution.
Latin Mass Returns to Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore: A Roman Rite pilgrimage, similar to the Chartres pilgrimage, began in Rome on 25 April. Over the course of three days, the pilgrims will walk 90 km to Subiaco. The route began with a Mass at the Basilica Maria Maggiore and passed through Castel Gandolfo.
@Michael Haynes on X: The Latin Mass returned once again to the Basilica of St Mary Major this morning Now pilgrims are on day 1 of 3, walking from Rome to Subiaco
Deacon Nick Donnelly @ProtecttheFaith First they desecrate St. Peter’s with a protestantized Mass, then they desecrate it with Pachamama, a gay pride march and now they desecrate St.Peter’s with a woman pretending to be the Archbishop of a schismatic Protestant group that persecuted Catholics for hundreds of years
The Church teaches that heretics cannot validly administer even sacramentals, such as blessings, consecrations, and exorcisms. The Church has automatically excommunicated the accomplices of heretics. Pope Leo XIII It breaks away from the Apostolic succession In the rite of conferring and administering any sacrament one rightly distinguishes between the ceremonial part and the essential part, which is customarily called the matter and form. […] Now, the words which until recent times were everywhere held by the Anglicans as the proper form of priestly ordination, namely, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit,’ certainly do not in the least signify definitely the order of priesthood, or its grace and power, which is especially the power ‘of consecrating and of offering the true Body and Blood of the Lord,’ in that sacrifice which is no ‘nude commemoration of the sacrifice offered on the Cross’ [see n. 950]. Such a form was indeed afterwards lengthened by these words, ‘for the office and work of …barrachd
Father E. Sylvester Berry: “The dragon is seen in heaven which is here a symbol of the Church, the kingdom of heaven on earth. This indicates that the first troubles of those days will be inaugurated within the Church by apostate bishops, priests, and peoples, — the stars dragged down by the tail of the dragon.
by Andrea Widburg Earlier this month, I wrote that a leftist outlet openly stated that migrants sexually assaulting European women is a great way to help assimilate the migrants. This was not a joke. Now, in another “not a joke” moment, a major German insurance provider has released a commercial reminding German women and men to use contraception, especially when one of the two men in the bed is definitely not German. AOK is one of Germany’s largest health insurance providers. One of its approaches to healthcare is to provide free access to doctors for contraception counseling and consultations. To promote this service, it created a 17-second ad. The ad shows a stereotypically Germanic-looking young woman leaving the arms of her sleeping, equally Germanic-looking (male) lover. Then there’s an overlay with a sultry video of the woman looking at the camera as she walks out of the room, along with the caption, “Mit irh?” (“With her?”) The main camera then shifts to a picture of the …
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 10,11-18. Jesus said: "I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them. This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd. This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own. I have power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. This command I have received from my Father."
Diesen …barrachd
2 Peter 2:21-22 It would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than, having known it, to turn back and abandon the holy commandment that was handed on to them. What happened to them manifests the truth of the proverbs: “The dog returns to its own vomit,” and “The washed sow returns to wallowing in the mud.” Hebrews 10:26 Apostasy Remains Unforgiven. If we deliberately persist in sin after having received the knowledge of the truth, then there no longer remains any sacrifice for sins.
Amid growing controversy over the future of the Valley of the Fallen, Spain’s Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, has defended Cardinal José Cobo of Madrid. Bolaños told LaSexta.com that the plan to secularise the religious site was not the cardinal's initiative, but the result of an agreement reached directly with the Vatican. He emphasised that no personal deal had been made with Cobo, who has faced significant pressure from Catholics over the issue. The minister also said that the Vatican is fully committed to transforming the Valley from a monastery into a site of "democratic memory". Addressing divisions within the Catholic Church, Bolaños described it as a 'plural organisation', while criticising more traditional sectors that oppose the transformation and suggesting that they are out of step with 'contemporary society'. He also placed the “re-signification” of the Valley within a broader set of negotiations between the Spanish government and the Church, covering issues …barrachd
The Valley of the Fallen is the equivalent of Arlington National Cemetery in Virgina. The main difference is that priests live in the monastery that is there and the edifice is large and quite awesome to behold.
Our Lady of Montserrat - April 27 The image of Our Lady of Montserrat, popularly known as La Moreneta (the Dark One), due to the dark colour of Her skin, is a truly beautiful 12th century Romanesque polychrome carving. Pope Leo XIII proclaimed Our Lady of Montserrat Patron Saint of Catalonia in 1881. In 1947, the image was enthroned in a silver altarpiece, paid for by popular subscription and installed in the upper section of the basilica apse. Artistically, the image imitates a popular model, that of Our Lady in Majesty, with a wholly frontal attitude and Baby Jesus on Her lap in the centre. Both Mother and Child are wearing crowns. The figure of Our Lady stretches out Her right hand, which holds the globe, symbolising the cosmos. Our Lady nearly rests Her left hand on the Child’s shoulder, indicating that this omnipotent king is Her Son. With His right hand, the Child gives a blessing, whilst His left hand holds a pinecone, symbol of fertility and everlasting life. Our Lady of …barrachd
April 27 Our Lady of MONTSERRAT. ChesiLorenzo on Feb 8, 2011. A rugged mountain not far from Barcelona is home to one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Spain: the Shrine of Our Lady of Montserrat. Since the 12th century, pilgrims have been drawn to the mountain to venerate the miraculous statue of the Black Madonna (La Moreneta). In 1996, 2.6 million visitors came to Montserrat. History of Montserrat Shrine According to Catholic tradition, the statue of the Black Virgin of Montserrat was carved by St. Luke around 50 AD and brought to Spain. It was later hidden from the Moors in a cave (Santa Cova, the Holy Grotto), where it was rediscovered in 880 AD. According to the legend of the discovery, which was first recorded in the 13th century, the statue was discovered by shepherds. They saw a bright light and heard heavenly music that eventually led them to the grotto and the statue. The Bishop of Manresa, present at the discovery, suggested that it be moved to Manresa, but …barrachd
Montserrat - Monistrol de Montserrat, Barcelona The community today is made up of some 80 monks. As at all Benedictine monasteries, the monks of Montserrat follow the Rule of Saint Benedict, devoting their lives to prayer, welcoming pilgrims and visitors, and working. Prayer sets the rhythm for the monastery day. The day begins and ends in prayer. Every day, in addition to celebrating the Eucharist, the monks meet five times to pray (the liturgy of the hours). They also have time for private prayer and for reading the Bible and other spiritual works. All this helps create an atmosphere of prayer throughout the day. Escolania de Montserrat Montserrat is home to one of the oldest boys’ choirs in Europe. Documents testify to the existence of a religious and music school in Montserrat as far back as the 14th century. The Escolania now accompanies religious ceremonies and communal prayers in the basilica. All the choir members receive a high standard of musical training, along with human …barrachd
Prevost obstinately rejects the authority of God and defies the Holy Spirit. Leo Affirms Francis’ Blessing Of Gay Couples Saint Paul teaches us that anyone who rejects the instructions to live in holiness and disobeys the Will of God—which consists precisely in the requirement that we Christians live in holiness and abstain from all sexual immorality—is not rejecting a human authority; rather, on the contrary, such a person is rejecting the Supreme Authority, which is the authority of God. Such a person rejects and defies the Holy Spirit. In other words, Prevost is committing the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 New Catholic Bible God Wills Your Sanctification Chapter 4 Respect for the Body. 1 Finally, brethren, you learned from us how you ought to live so that you may be pleasing to God—and as you are indeed doing.
